zinc pyrithione (glej spodaj). Podatek sem preverila na internetu. Našla sem nekaj nasvetov za uporabo istega pri tej diagnozi.
Dear Paula,
I'm 34 and have had perioral dermatitis for about as long as I can remember. I read your answer to a previous question about it, but I still have a few more questions. I saw a dermatologist, and what they gave me isn't really helping. The Epiduo cream made my skin even more red and irritated, and Oracea, has done absolutely nothing in the 2+ months I've been taking it. I'm planning to go back to the dermatologist to try and get a treatment that works, but I'm wondering in the meantime is there a skin care regimen (cleanser, toner, sunscreen, etc.) and makeup that I can wear that won't make my skin worse? I've switched to a non-fluoride toothpaste and use a very mild cleanser that you recommend (Eucerin Gentle Hydrating Cleanser), but my skin is still very irritated. Also, it's hard to find a comprehensive list of what should be avoided, is there any way you could help with that?

Dear Nicole,
It sounds like you have a very stubborn case of this type of dermatitis. Ask your dermatologist about a short course of the oral antibiotic tetracycline (500 mg 2x per day) coupled with DesOwen, which is a topical steroid cream that tends to work well in combination with the tetracycline. This guideline is one that's a favorite of dermatologist Dr. Audrey Kunin, and is supported by research (Source: Dermatology, Volume 210, 2005, pages 301-307). Another option is to consider ordering DermaZinc cream from www.dermadoctor.com. This product contains the active ingredient zinc pyrithione, which is believed to play a role in the yeast that contributes to perioral dermatitis (Source: American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, March/April 2000, pages 75-80). You can also try washing this area with anti-dandruff shampoo whose active ingredient is zinc pyrithione, such as those from the Head & Shoulders brand. Other treatment options are available as well, and these plus the ones mentioned above should be discussed with your dermatologist.
Zanima me še kakšno mnenje.
