Make up for the evening
Rushing from workplace to a party? Here is a guide for the perfect evening make up that you can do in a jiffy. |

IT IS the big night out and you want to look your best. In a real time situation, often rushing to the function or a gig straight from the workplace, you are racing against time to style those presentable looks. The key is to go in for a swift, simple or sultry look playing up the darker and lighter tones cleverly. "When you haven t got time to spare, but want to look presentable, try a quick routine for evening sophistication," says Laila Kakade, a beautician.
Simple looks for soirees... Choose to be simple to avoid a messy make up that you would be uneasy with, all through the evening. The magic can be created with a foundation, eye shadow, blusher, mascara and a gloss. "Go for the all-in-one foundation/powder formulations taking it over the lips and eyelids since this will make the rest of the make up easier to apply. Choose a cream eye shadow that can be applied directly from the stick. Slick it over the entire eyelid right up to the crease of the eye socket. Opt for a brown shade that will bring out the colour of your eyes. Brush over the top with translucent powder, to tone down the colour and blend away the harsh edges of the shadow. Apply a coat of mascara to your lashes taking care of the lower lashes as well. Use the tip of the mascara wand to coat the lower lashes".
"Apply a berry red blusher with the blusher brush sweeping it from the cheeks up towards your eyes. Round up with a berry shade of lip-gloss to add colour to your lips. Cover the lower lip with the sponge tipped applicator. Press the lips together to transfer the colour onto the upper lip. Touch up the areas you have missed with the applicator," says Laila.
Sultry looks in a jiffy... "The focus is very much on the eyes. Once you have applied foundation, concealer and powder, work on the eye make-up.

But before that, draw a line using loose powder to catch any falling specks of the dark eye shadow.
Sweep a smoky dark brown eye shadow over the entire eyelid blending it carefully into the crease. Apply a little of the same under your lower lashes to accentuate the shape of eyes and give a balanced look. Black eyeliner is perfect for this look.
Draw a fine line above and below the lashes using a pencil. Sweep a pearl ivory shadow over the brows to contrast the dark smoky look on the eyelid. Complete the look with two coats of black mascara. Sweep a bronze powder blusher over the cheekbones blending away the edges into the hairline.
Keeping the lips neutral gives the look its real impact. Opt for a pinkish beige shade of lip pencil and smudge it over the lips for a matte understated effect," says Laila. And you have got the sultry looks, just what it takes to be glamorous and in a jiffy.
A little hands on practise and you wouldn t be worked up about the short notice parties and will look your best at the same time.
