predvsem to!

Every woman needs a drop dead killer red lipstick. What? You haven t got one? And you call yourself a girl? The shame! Some of you are probably saying But I can t wear red lipstick, I look like a hooker! Well guess what? I am here to argue with you on that one, because where there is a will, there is a way. And we WILL find a way. The problem is that all reds are not created equal.
So how will you know if you can wear a red or not? If you apply a red lipstick and instantly think you look like you have been dragged off of the stage of a pantomime, chances are you haven t got it right! So let s have a look at the difference in reds and how they react to different skins.
Skintone - Warm or cool?
The most important thing to remember when looking not only at red, but any other colour as well, is how natural or contrasting it will be to your skin. Red is never going to be entirely natural, but the same rules apply here as when you are choosing pink, or even a brownier tone. Some companies will break the choice down by groups for you so you don t have to guess which are cool reds and which are warm reds. Liz Collinge, Prescriptives, M&S Perfect, Clarins, Lancome, and Clinique will all give you a head start by categorising their shades for you.
Remember, there are some good indicators as to whether you are warm or cool. Cool skins tend to be Scandinavian, English, Scottish, Irish, Icelandic, and even Germanic. Cools skin finds it very difficult to get colour in the summer unless sunburned is considered a colour! Normally they are quite fine skins and are the sort that goes ruddy easily. Warmer skins are often Mediterranean, Greek, Italian, French, American, Asian, Indian, or Black. They might burn at the beginning of the summer, but then they can usually go quite a nice golden brown colour.
If your skin is a classic English rose complexion (cool) you will easily be able to wear most reds. The rose tone of your skin will be perfectly complimented by a true red or a more pink red (cool reds). You can even try reds that border along fuschia, berry shades, and deep blackberry. The ones you will find slightly more difficult are the really orangey tomato reds (warm reds). It is not that you can t wear them, but they will be hard work. They may make you feel a bit washed out, or that you need stronger eye makeup to get away with. The exception (well there would be one, wouldn t there?) is when you get to deeper brick reds. These are still considered warmer reds, but the brown in them will give them enough depth to work against your skin colouring.
For those of you with a more golden complexion (warm) the exact opposite will apply. Once more a clear red will be beautiful, as will all of the other warm reds. Tomato red, brick, rusts. The ones that will be trouble with a capitol T are the cooler reds with blue in them. Pinkie reds will make you look like you need to be rushed directly to the hospital. However, if you make them extremely rich by putting black into the shade, or chose a very dark version, you will be able to get away with them, but these will be harder to find.
Who does what well?
Obviously, all cosmetic companies make red lipsticks, but there are a few that do them particularly well. In fact, red is the sort of shade that almost becomes synonymous with the company. Chanel, Dior, and YSL are the three best examples. The beauty of going to these companies is that you will have freedom of choice in colour, finish, tone, and formula. If you wanted long lasting, it will be there in all three tones: true red (T), warm red (W), and blue red (C).
Chanel
From Chanel, if you want a more matte finish, Infrarouge lipstick offers up Velvet (B), Matador (T), and Scarlet (W). If you want a glossier finish it has HydraRouge in a stunningly beautiful blue red called Lune Rousse (B), which is really rich and easy to wear. Pirate (T) is a glorious clear red, Adventure (W) is a softer brownie red that is lovely, and the infamous Rouge Noir (D Deep) is a cult classic.
Dior
If Dior is your passion and you wanted a lipstick with extra staying power the Diorific lipsticks come in Roulette Red (B), Magic Wine (T), and Dolce Vita Red (W). In a more satin finish, choose from Dior s Rouge Collection in Indian Red (B), Sicily (W), or the softer deep red of Autumn Rose (D).

Well, my friends, that should sort you out with the perfect red. I hunted high and low and ended up looking like I had some strange disease by the time I got finished oh the things I do for you! As I said at the beginning, red is a lipstick that you should all have in your make-up artillery. There are times when nothing else will do. Don t assume you can t wear it until you try. Test them out until you find the right one, and then make the investment.
